In HMOs (houses of multiple occupancy) landlords are legally required to provide fire extinguishers and equipment.
For standard rentals (i.e. where the multiple occupancy rules don’t apply) there are no compulsory requirements for the landlord to provide fire extinguishers and equipment although we find that many good landlords do provide them.
Yes, in HMOs fire extinguishers must be serviced every year?
