An EICR in Scotland must be signed off by a qualified electrician that is SELECT registered or a member of NICEIC.

As part of the landlord registration scheme in Edinburgh one of the requirements is to upload your LRA as well as the other relevant landlord certificates. It is also a legal requirement that the landlord carries out a risk assessment of the property that assesses the risk of exposure to legionella.
We recommend that fire alarms be tested as follows:
In residential homes – tests at least once a month.
In commercial environments – we suggest at least weekly tests conducted by the internal team with full tests by external experts at least yearly.
The cost of your safety check will depend on the number of gas appliances in the property.
When our electricians are at the property they will electronically fill out the certificate and send to our office to be processed. Our office will aim to have the certificate, invoice and any quote required emailed over to you within the hour of the job being completed. If you require the certificate quicker than that, our electrician can send the certificate directly to you before leaving the property.
It depends on the severity of the water exposure and the type of wiring. An electrician will need to inspect the wiring and any affected components. In some cases, drying out and testing the insulation resistance may be sufficient, but in other cases, replacing the wiring may be necessary to ensure safety.
